Beautiful hand finished Jumbo sized Bottle Glass Garland from Ghana. So pretty to decorate you home with by adding a touch of color, texture and visual interest. The jumbo sized beads are matte finished and are just lovely and looks like the soft blue beach glass that reminds me of Texas beaches.

ABOUT GHANA GLASS & UPCYCLING
Beautiful hand finished Bottle Glass beads from Ghana. In Ghana, glass bottles are hammered into small pieces and the broken shards are placed into handmade clay molds. After melting them in the fire, the color can be modfied, then these beads are removed and hand rolled in sand and water by hand to create a matte finish. These beads are a thriving form of payment for the community and are recognized as TRADE BEADS.
Today, they help the economy of Ghana and at the same time are upcycled items- reuse of discarded objects or materials in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value an the original. Each strand was personally selected from a Fair Trade vendor that is part of a cooperative in Ghana.
