The deep red of the garnet has made it a favorite of mine.

A spiritual stone of higher thinking and self-empowerment, it is also a stone of strength and safety. It is a stone of prosperity and abundance, encouraging gratitude and service to others.

Garnet comes in every color but blue! It revitalizes, purifies and balance energy, bringing serenity or passion as appropriate. It is said to be able to warn of approaching danger and was long ago carried as a protective talisman.  One of the oldest known stones of adornment dating back to Egyptian times. Red Garnet represents love. Attuned to the heart energy, it revitalizes feelings and enhances inspiration. Red Garnet also controls anger, especially toward the self.

Prayer Containers are an ancient design element that has been worn in India, Nepal and Tibet.  This size is one that was more frequently worn many centuries ago and often a part of long intricate jewelry.  Beautiful to look at, but more importantly, it carried a sacred wish, prayer or message near the heart of the person who wore it.  This locket was designed to hold a precious photo or scrolled message with the same intention.
