They are stunning both in their workmanship and also because they have an old well-traveled look to them. This wide band ring has an open back so that it can fit to any size finger and is approximately 1/2 inch in width. Near each of the edges, there is a Dorje symbol. Symbolically a dorje represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment,' that abrupt change in human consciousness which is recognized by all the great religions as a pivotal episode in the lives of mystics and saints. Once "enlightened," the observer can detach from the personal importance of money, romance, food and even life itself. Happiness then comes from inside, not outside, of the observer who recognizes that he (or she) is part of the Creation.

Originally written in Sanskrit, the sacred Hindu script, it means adoration (namas) to Śiva", preceded by the mystical syllable "Aum". Om Namah Shivaya mantra is sung by devotees in prayers and recited by yogis in meditation. It is associated with qualities of prayer, divine-love, grace, truth and blissfulness.

A powerful healing mantra beneficial for all physical and mental ailments. Soulful recitation of this mantra brings peace to the heart and joy to the (Ātman) or Soul. Sages consider that the recitation of these syllables is sound therapy for the body and nectar for the soul. The mantra is the calling upon the higher self; it is the calling upon Shiva, the destroyer, to aid in the death (destruction of ego) and rebirth achieved during meditation.
